Switching from your current food to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days to reduce any digestive upsets that occur due to a change in diet. Feed 25% of the new food with 75% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 50% of each food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 75% of the new food with 25% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. After this time, your dog will be 100% on Sportmix/Butcher’s Best Pet Food.
Feeding Adult Dogs. Follow the feeding guidelines shown below. Remember that food intake should be adjusted upon your dog’s body condition, life stage, activity and environmental temperature. Since SPORTMiX foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Feed with clean water every day. We recommend splitting this amount into two meals. Be sure to take your pets to your local veterinarian for proper health examination.
